New Fabric Friday

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas Holiday.
We sure did.
Things have been pretty quiet around here the last few days...and that's the way I like it.

Although the UPS guy did drop off a box full these beauties the other day...

 I LOVE THEM!
Whimsical and fun, and it comes in both boy and girl colorways!
Both color palettes are exceptional.
And that's it for this week!

Do you have any awesome plans for New Years?

Do you want to know a secret?  My husband and I haven't stayed up til midnight on New Years Eve for years.  We are weak-sauce.  We party with the kids at 10pm, and then hit the hay.
Lame-o.  I know. Maybe this year we will make it til 11PM!

See You Next Year!

New Fabric Friday

Twas the Friday before Christmas, and all through the shop
New collections were arriving... they just wouldn't stop!

Are you ready for the Holidays?  I am, almost.
Getting all these beautiful fabrics listed in the shop was at the top of my list, so here you go!

Pirouette by Verna Mosquera for Free Spirit Fabrics

Pin ItIsn't it lovely?  Inspired by an old French Painting in Paris, this fabric has the perfect combination of traditional vintage floral designs, and modern color combinations.  LOVE that pink and brown.  I am getting the vibe that my girls' Easter dresses next year are going vintage!

Oh.my.word.  This collection knocked my socks off.  The Fuchsia and Teal colorways are spectacular by themselves, but mix them together and you are in for a captivating combo.

Mmmm. They are delish!

That's it for this week.  I will be back next Friday with even more eye candy!

From my family to yours,

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Scrappy Little Christmas Tree Tutorial

If I showed you my sewing room, you would faint.
My scrap pile is pretty darn impressive scary. I am always looking for ways to make a dent in the ginormous stash.

Here is one cute little project I made with the kids last week with scraps!

It was so easy, and they turned out extra adorable if you ask me.

Here's the HOW TO:

You will need fabric scraps cut into about 3/4" strips, a piece of cardstock, and some glue.
I chose rubber cement, but Modge Podge would be fabulous too.

I had all the strips in a pile and let the kids choose their strips one at a time. We cut each strip a little shorter than the previous.

This little gal was thoroughly enjoying herself.

And this dude takes his projects VERY seriously.

We topped them off with a fabric star.

Christmas Cuteness and Scrap Bust'n Fun!

I'll be back on Friday with some great new collections to share!

Don't forget that this Thursday is the last day to place an order and have it shipped before the Holiday Break.

My Mom's Christmas Quilt

I have been working on this baby for 2 months!
 And she is finally finished!
I made this quilt for my mother and gave it to her as an early Christmas gift, so she could display it throughout the month.

My favorite part is most definitely the Candy Cane Stripe edge!

And the Polka Dot backing!

Okay, who am I kidding, I love the WHOLE DANG THING!
I love that it is a modge podge of various Christmas collections and prints, and that it looks like Christmas exploded onto this quilt!

In fact, I had a really hard time saying goodbye to this one, I totally wanted to keep it for myself.

I am actually thinking about making the exact same quilt for myself....is that so weird?   Making two of the same quilt?  Let me know if you think I am off my rocker!

Would you like to make one too?
Because all the Christmas Prints in our shop are on sale RIGHT NOW!
Some as low as $5.50/ yard.  Find them HERE!

You will only need 1/4 yard of each print.
For this quilt I cut a bunch of 9" squares from my 1/4 yards, and then cut them up using THIS technique from Allison over at Cluck Cluck Sew....she is awesome-ness.

I sewed them together, and it turned out so cute! I can't wait to get started on my next one.
